DELAWARE TOWNSHIP- Police in Pike County are on the lookout for a hit and run driver.

According to Pennsylvania State Trooper Rich Bozym, the incident happened in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 26 on State Route 739, just north of Doolan Road, in Delaware Township.

A 1995 Geo Prism driven by 18-year-old Catherine Miller of Dingmans Ferry was traveling north on route 739 when a vehicle described as a "dark green two-door coupe with a green spoiler on the rear and tinted windows" tried to pass at a high rate of speed.

According to Bozym, the passing maneuver was hindered by oncoming traffic causing the suspect vehicle to slam into right rear end of the Geo Prism. The unknown driver fled the scene north on route 739.

Police are asking anyone who can help in identifying the hit & run driver or the possible whereabouts of the vehicle that may now sport substantial front-end damage, to contact the state police in Blooming Grove at 570-226-5718.
