The winners of Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room Grand Opening Raffle accept their prize, a new portable automated electronic defibrillator (AED). Tusten Volunteer Ambulance won the special EMS raffle held November 4-5-6 at the hospital.
Rodney Branning, President of Tusten Ambulance was very
appreciative. “We’re really happy to receive this. It’s hard for volunteers, it’s a struggle to raise the funds for equipment. This means a lot.” Branning said Tusten has 30 volunteers, including 18 drivers and four EMTs.
Last year, the company responded to 377 calls. “And the way we’re going, we expect to hit 460 calls this year. We’re very busy.”
The defibrillator is a Lifepak 500 AED, made by Medtronic.
