Pike County Court Sentencing Information Thursday June 24, 2010
Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen:

Former Promise Land Volunteer Firefighter Pleads Guilty to Theft
Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced that a former Promise Land volunteer firefighter plead guilty in front of President Judge Joseph F. Kameen on June 24, 2010.
Stuart Ferber, age 45, of Canadensis, PA plead guilty to one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking. Ferber, the former Treasurer of the fire company admitted today that between January 2004 and December 2008, he took over $ 96,000.00 belonging to the Promise Land Volunteer Fire Company for his personal use. The theft charge is a felony in the third degree. Ferber faces up to 7 years in prison and a fine of $ 15,000.00. Tonkin said he will seek full restitution for the fire company at sentencing.
Ferber is scheduled to be sentenced on August 19, 2010.

Route 6 Bridge to return to Two-Way Traffic Wednesday
DUNMORE, PA – PennDOT will reopen the Route 6 bridge over the Delaware River at Matamoras, Pa. and Port Jervis, NY, to two-way traffic by the end of the work day on Wednesday (6/30). The contractor will move the barrier to the upstream side of the bridge, then eradicate pavement markings and change signage. The detour utilizing I-84 to Exit 1 also will be removed.

Registrations Still Being Accepted for Delaware River Sojourn - Early Bird Pricing Extended Until June 18
WEST TRENTON, N.J.– Interested paddlers are reminded that it is not too late to register for the 16th annual Delaware River Sojourn, which will be held from Sunday, June 20 through Saturday, June 26. Furthermore, early bird registration savings of $10/day has been extended for individuals registering by noon on June 18.
