Pike County ALS puts the Freeze on Cardiac Patients
Pike County, PA - On Friday, July 16, 2010 Pike County Advanced Life Support will launch a new life-saving treatment that will improve the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest if you live in Pike or Wayne Counties. Cardiac arrest is most often caused by a heart attack and occurs when a patient stops breathing and no longer has a pulse.

FDA Posts Nationwide Recall of Slim Fast Drinks: 10 million cans affected
A nationwide voluntary recall of all Slim-Fast ready-to-drink (RTD) products in cans has been posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) due to the possibility of contamination with Bacillus cereus, a micro-organism, which may cause diarrhea and possibly nausea and/or vomiting. The probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote. Slim-Fast is a product of Unilever United States, Inc.

The forums will be in Wayne County on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center and in Pike County on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 6:00 PM, at the Pike County Medical Center.
