The Worst Of The Storm Is Yet To Come
-- AccuWeather.com reports the worst of the storm is yet to come, even as drenching rain is falling in eastern New England and snow is already accumulating and making roads slippery in the northern mid-Atlantic. This is not your average, everyday nor`easter.

AccuWeather.com meteorologists expect the storm's worst to take place from this evening into Friday morning in most areas as winds, snow, rain and related problems increase in intensity.

New York City to the northern Philadelphia suburbs, northwestward to Allentown, Scranton, Binghamton, Syracuse and Rochester, will get the worst of the snowstorm. A secondary area of heavy snow will hold on over the mountains of northern New England.

At the height of the storm, strong winds will blow the rain and snow horizontally in some locations, while sending loose debris flying.

Motorists should expect deteriorating conditions with lowering visibility and road surfaces turning to slush, snow and ice. Some roads and highways may close, and you may get stuck.
Expect flight cancellations in the major airports in the region, especially around New York City and Philadelphia.

Expect high winds to down trees and result in power outages. Onshore winds in New England will lead to coastal flooding, while blowout tides occur in the southern mid-Atlantic.

Gusts close to hurricane force are possible in coastal New England, the central Appalachians, and around the Delmarva. Winds will be strongest in open areas, between buildings, on ridges, and in the gaps between the mountains.

Trees and Insurance Coverage
Remember that a tree is a living thing, and its integrity and stability change over time, so don’t assume that a tree that has survived ten severe storms will necessarily survive an eleventh.
