According to information received from Town of Deerpark Police, on August 24th, 2009, Town of Deerpark Police conducted a routine traffic stop. The officer recognized the passenger of the vehicle to be Luke T. Bogert, age 28 of Cuddebackville.

The officer was aware of an active bench warrant for Bogert for failing to appear on misdemeanor traffic offenses. When the officer approached Bogert, he fled on foot into a wooded area. A struggle occurred a short time later between Bogert and the officer, which resulted in minor injuries to the officer and Bogert's escape.

On 8/26 2009, police located Bogert outside his residence, and he again attempted to flee police. After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody without incident.

In addition to the bench warrant, Bogert is charged with the felony of attempted assault 2nd and two counts, and the misdemeanor of resisting arrest.

Bogert was arraigned in town court and sent to Orange County Jail in lieu of $7000.00 cash bail on the new charges and $400.00 cash bail on the original bench warrant.
