The 16th Annual River Road Fair in Barryville, NY, carries an extra special designation this year: it was voted The Best Flea Market by River Reporter Readers!
New this year, as well, are our sponsors, First National Bank of Jeffersonville and The River Reporter newspaper.

There is something for everyone at the Fair. Last year there were nearly 50 vendors selling collectibles, art and photos, quilts, jewelry, plus resident’s yard sales and flea market items. Started as a simple yard sale event in 1993 as a way to raise money for the Barryville United Methodist Church on River Road, the fair took on a life of its own when it began attracting hundreds of visitors. Soon outside vendors were eager to join the residents on the road.

“Our crowds have been terrific considering we are a home-grown yard sale that exploded into a ˝ mile street fair,” say organizer Leslie Rutkin. “We always have new vendors and there will be favorite standbys like the delicious Strawberry Shortcake at the Methodist Church plus their garage sale and, finally, the great lunch that they always offer.
Eleanor Burrell, of the Burrell River Road Studio & Gallery at the north end of the road, will have her annual outdoor art show. In addition, there will be a Farmer’s Market from 10am to 2pm.

Vendors are always welcome as are new sponsors. Call 845 557-8751 for more information.
